    Este breve comentario ofrece tres reflexiones al artículo ’Pro-vocaciones y tensiones del Antropoceno: hacia una geologización de lo social’, de Manuel Tironi y Beltrán Undurraga. En primer lugar, se discute la idea de ’claroscuro’ que los autores utilizan para abordar sociológicamente el Antropoceno. Segundo, se critica la definición algo débil del concepto mismo de Antropoceno, que corre el riesgo de disolver buena parte de sus rendimientos más significativos. Final-mente, se toma distancia de su llamado a la ’sociología chilena’, desde una perspectiva tanto local como global.

    This short commentary offers three reflections to the Manuel Tironi and Beltrán Undurraga’s article on ’Incitements and Tensions of the Anthropocene: Geologizing the Social’. First, it discusses the idea of the ‘chiaroscuro’ that the authors deploy for a sociological approach on the Anthropocene. Secondly, it criticizes their somewhat weak defi-nition of the very concept of the Anthropocene, which runs the risk of dissolving a great deal of its most promising insights. Finally, it distances itself from their call to of ‘Chilean sociology’ from both a local and a global perspective.
