    El presente trabajo busca establecer una comparación entre dos de las figuras más importantes de la Iglesia moderna, y especialmente del trabajo apostólico: san Carlos de Jesús (Foucauld) y santa Teresa del Niño Jesús y de la Santa Faz. Concretamente, se yuxtaponen sus consideraciones respecto del amor universal por todas las almas, mostrando cómo este amor se funda en el amor primero de Jesucristo, y especialmente en el amor sacrificado de Jesús, que se manifiesta en el primer anonadamiento de su Encarnación, y en el segundo anonadamiento de su Pasión y Muerte. Ambos santos, en circunstancias diversas y por derroteros disímiles, han llegado a entender el amor del prójimo desde el amor de Cristo crucificado, y han sabido crucificarse con Él para hacerse con Él corredentores de todos sus hermanos.

    This article seeks to establish a comparison between two of the most important figures of the modern Church, and especially of its apostolic dimension: Saint Charles of Jesus (Foucauld) and Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face. It juxtaposes their observations concerning universal love for all souls, showing how this love has its origin in the love of Jesus Christ---especially His sacrificial love---which is manifested first in the emptying-out of his Incarnation, and secondly in his Passion and Death. Both saints, in different circumstances and by following dissimilar paths, came to understand the love of neighbor as arising from the love of Christ crucified; they knew how to crucify themselves with Him, so as to become co-redeemers with Him of all their brothers and sisters.
