"Las voces que me piensan al pensarlas": el diálogo intertextual en los ensayos de Jazmina Barrera

    El presente artículo estudia tres libros de Jazmina Barrera (México, 1988): "Cuerpo extraño" (2013), "Cuaderno de faros" (2019) y "Línea nigra" (2020). Sin perder de vista que, como afirma la propia autora, un ensayo es un texto híbrido e inclasificable, este trabajo observa los rasgos del ensayo que permiten comprender cada libro en su singularidad, así como el universo al que pertenecen. De esta manera, se parte de una revisión de dichas características entre las que se encuentran su naturaleza experimental y juguetona (Bense), el afán por construirse a sí mismo a partir de lo que ya tiene forma (Lukács) y el uso de citas como técnica de apuntalamiento textual. Enseguida, tras revisar la disposición de cada libro, se aborda la intertextualidad tal como la entiende Genette, incluida en ella la écfrasis como una de las técnicas privilegiadas por la prosa de la autora mexicana. En este sentido, se observa la semejanza evidente que existe entre la escritura ensayística y el coleccionismo tal como lo han entendido pensadores como Walter Benjamin y Jean-Claude Nancy, es decir, como el deseo siempre insatisfecho de anular la distancia que separa al coleccionista de los objetos amados de convertirse en ellos. Se atiende también la resonancia semántica que ocurre entre imágenes relacionadas con la intersección entre la vida y la muerte, por una parte; y con la maternidad como reconocimiento y apropiación de la alteridad, por la otra. Este artículo identifica, finalmente, una poética donde el cuerpo biológico y el cuerpo textual son nociones intercambiables.

    This article studies three books of Jazmina Barrera (Mexico, 1988): "Cuerpo extraño" (2013), "Cuaderno de faros" (2019) and "Linea nigra" (2020). Without losing sight of the fact that, as the author herself affirms, an essay is a hybrid and unclassifiable text, this work observes the features of the essay genre that allow us to understand each book in its singularity, as well as the universe to which they belong to. In this way, it is based on a review of these characteristics, among which are its experimental and playful nature (Bense), the desire to build itself from what already has a form (Lukács) and the use of quotes such as textual un-derpinning technique. Immediately, after reviewing the layout of each book, in-tertextuality is addressed as understood by Genette, including ekphrasis as one of the privileged techniques used by the Mexican author’s prose. In this sense, the obvious similarity that exists between essay writing and collecting as understood by thinkers such as Walter Benjamin and Jean-Claude Nancy is observed, that is, as the always unsatisfied desire to annul the distance that separates the collector from the loved objects to become them. The semantic resonance that occurs between images related to the intersection between life and death is also addressed, on the one hand, and with motherhood as recognition and appro-priation of otherness, on the other. This article finally identifies a poetics where the biological body and the textual body are interchangeable notions.
