“The pursuit of pleasurable work” es un volumenetnográfico compuesto por diez capítulos (algunosreeditados) entorno a lo que el autor denomina antropología de la artesanía. En particular,se aborda el devenir y elcurrículo formativo actual de la carpintería fina en una de las escuelas más prestigiosas y antiguas de Londres, Building Crafts College. El libro cubre un amplio número de temas relacionados con la destreza, el conocimiento tácito, la dualidad trabajo mecánico/trabajo manual, así como las utopías y aspiraciones del trabajo vocacional y artesanal.

“The pursuit ofpleasurable work” is an ethnographic volume made up of 10 chapters (some republished) around what the author calls the “anthropology of crafts”. In particular, the author focuseson the current training curriculum of fine carpentry in one of the most prestigious and oldest schools in London, Building Crafts College. The book covers various topics related to skill, tacit knowledge, mechanical versus manual work, and utopiasand aspirations of vocational and artisanal work.
