La Virgen de la Antigua es una escultura con una interesante indumentaria y ricas estofas, que además ha sido engalanada con vestiduras desde su llegada a la catedral de Jaén. Durante los siglos XVII y XVIII aparecieron los principales conjuntos y algunos de ellos aún se conservan, por eso es necesario relacionarlos con las manufacturas del momento y la datación de estas modas. Además, encontramos algunas vestiduras bor-dadas que incorporan otros estilos posteriores a tan magnífica colección. Con este tra-bajo se pretende analizar el traje tallado y policromado de esta imagen devocional, para aportar nuevos datos a su catalogación; conocer el origen de su ajuar textil a través de las fuentes de archivo y estudiar las piezas que componen este singular patrimonio

The Virgen de la Antiguais an sculpture with an interesting attire and lavish quilts which additionally has been decorated with vestments since its arrival to the Cathedral in Jaén. Amidst 17th and 18th centuries the main ensemble appeared and some of them are still preserved, therefore it is necessary to relate them with the manufactures at that time and the dating of those styles. Furthermore, we behold a number of embroidery clothing which integrate previous styles to this magnificent collection. The principal aim of this essay is to study the engraved and polychromatic garb of this devotional image to provide new datum to its catalogue. Moreover, to get acquainted with its trousseau textile origin throughout source files and study the different pieces which adorn this unique heritage
