Cómo plantear problemas científicos relevantes identificando brechas de investigación.

    El presente artículo de revisión se trazó como objetivo analizar el proceso de plantear problemas científicos relevantes a partir de la identificación de brechas de investigación, con la finalidad de satisfacer la necesidad de tesistas y jóvenes investigadores, quienes requieren una orientación para la realización de investigaciones cuya contribución al conocimiento sea significativa. La metodología consistió en la búsqueda y análisis de documentos que abordaran los temas de la relevancia científica, las brechas de investigación y el planteamiento de problemas en los distintos enfoques de investigación: cuantitativo, cualitativo y mixto. Los resultados de la búsqueda reflejan que, específicamente, la literatura sobre el concepto de brecha de investigación es escasa, sobre todo en idioma español, de allí el aporte de este trabajo a la temática de estudio. Se concluye que la identificación efectiva de brechas de investigación podría conducir al planteamiento de problemas científicos relevantes.

    The objective of this review article was to analyze the process of posing relevant scientific problems based on the identification of research gaps, in order to satisfy the need of thesis students and young researchers, who require guidance to carry out research whose contribution to knowledge is significant. The methodology consisted of the search and analysis of documents that addressed the issues of scientific relevance, research gaps, and the approach to problems in the different research approaches: quantitative, qualitative, and mixed. The search results reflect that, specifically, the literature on the concept of research gaps is scarce, especially in Spanish, hence the contribution of this work to the subject of study. It is concluded that the effective identification of research gaps could lead to the posing of relevant scientific problems.
