Resumen de Assessing the structure of nonverbal interaction

Thomas J. Saine, Madlyn A. Levine, Gaylynn E. McHose

  • A method for assessing the structure of verbal interaction was applied to the study of nonverbal communication. Based on video‐tapes taken of dyadic conversations, distributions were established for frequency and duration of specific nonverbal acts. Comparisons were made of distributions for subjects differing on the basis of Speech Anxiety scores, Duration of Speech, and Sex. Differences caused by Speech Anxiety were recorded in the distributional structure of nonverbal communication.
