    El boyeo es una de las tradiciones mas arraigadas en el ser costarricense, originada en el periodo colonial y desarrollada en los siglos XIX y XX, que aunque ha declinado todavía mantiene vigencia en varias zonas del país. El boyeo ha sido utilizado como emblema nacional y por ende, referente identitario. La imagen del boyero con su carreta y yunta de bueyes es parte de la historia de muchas familias costarricense. Este artículo se refiere a una investigación sobre las singularidades de esta tradición en Costa Rica, respecto a la de otros pueblos. El lenguaje es una particularidad, cuyo estudio se fundamentó en el uso del método etnográfico y distintas técnicas cualitativas. Un subproducto del proyecto fue un glosario. En esta comunicación se presentan algunos vocablos no registrados o con acepciones diferentes, que complementan la labor que otros colegas desarrollan en torno a los costarriqueñismos. Se reconoce el léxico del boyeo como un ejemplo de profusión lingüística, imbuido en la cotidianeidad y exponente del patrimonio cultural intangible de un pueblo.

    The "boyeo" or working with ox-carts is one of the most ingrained traditions in the Costarican being. It was originated in the colonial period and developed in the XIX and XX centuries. Even though the "boyeo" is less currently used, its practice still keeps its usage in diverse areas of the country. The "boyeo" has being used as a national emblem because it refers to the identity of the people of Costa Rica. The image of the "boyero" with his cart and with his ox-yoke is part of the history of countless Costarican families. This article refers to a research about the uniqueness of this tradition in Costa Rica regarding similar traditions in other countries. The study of its particular language was based in the use of the ethnographic method and in a number of additional qualitative techniques. The by-product of this project was a specific glossary. This lexicon introduces various non-registered utterances or with different acceptations, which complement the work developed about costarican terms by other colleagues. The lexicon of the "boyeo" is recognized as an example of linguistic wealth imbued in the daily nature, as well as it is the intangible exponent of the cultural heritage of an entire country.
