El estudio del origen de la familia andoaindarra es el hilo argumental de este artículo que resume un arduo trabajo de investigación sobre el apellido Ubillos. El primer objetivo, realizar un árbol genealógico para uno de los miembros de la familia, pronto se convirtió en una laboriosa tarea cuajada de visitas a archivos, bibliotecas, consulta a historiadores e investigadores. A través del estudio de los testamentos, cartas de obligación, libros parroquiales, libros de actas municipales, etc.. se ha podido establecer el origen andoaindarra pasando por la posterior desmembración de las ramas del apellido Ubillos en otras localidades, hasta llegar a concretar la relación del apellido familiar en la actualidad con la localidad que le vio nacer: Andoain.

Artikulu honen ardatza Andoaingo familia baten jatorriaren azterketa da, Ubillos abizenari buruzko ikerketa-lana laburtzen duena. Lehen helburua familiakide batentzat arbol genealogikoa egitea zen, baina laister lana handia izan zen: artxibo eta liburutegietara jo, eta historiagile eta ikertzaileekin kontsultatu. The central point of this essay is the study of a family from Andoain, which summarizes the research work about the "Ubillos" family name. The first aim of this work was to carry out a family tree for one of the members of this family, but this aim quickly became a very arduous work full of visits to archives and libraries and consultations with different historians and researchers. Through the study of many testaments, obligation letters, parrochial books, municipal certificate books, etc... it has been possible for us to establish that the above-mentioned family name comes from Andoain. Thus we have been able to fix the present relation between this family name and the town of Andoain.
