Resumen de ¿Quién utiliza el Programa de Atención Dental Infantil (PADI)?: Patrón de utilización del servicio en Navarra

  Fundamento: el estudio sobre la frecuentación de un programa complementa la información sobre cobertura anual. El objetivo es analizar el patrón de utilización del PADI en Navarra. Material y método: se analizaron 862 escolares nacidos entre 1992 y 1995 de la encuesta de salud oral Navarra-2007. De cada uno de ellos se obtuvo información sobre su asistencia al PADI durante los años con derecho, codificada como: "No asistió", "Sí asistió" y "Sin derecho". Los registros fueron extraídos de la base de datos de la Unidad de Gestión del PADI, del Servicio Navarro de Salud/Osasunbidea. El análisis estadístico incluyó análisis uni y multivariante, utilizando SPSS-Windows V.15.0.1. Resultados: Para cada edad la utilización media es del 70-75%. El 93,3% lo ha utilizado alguna vez a lo largo de su vida, el 38,2%, todos los años. Los más jóvenes utilizan más que los mayores (p< 0,05). No hay diferencias por sexo, residencia ni nivel socio-económico (NSE). Los inmigrantes acuden significativamente menos que los autóctonos (p<0,001). Conclusión: el PADI tiene un alto grado de utilización, aunque va disminuyendo a medida que avanza la edad. Los inmigrantes utilizan el servicio dental menos que los autóctonos; el NSE o el medio rural no son barreras para su acceso.

  Grounds: the scheme attendance study complements the information on annual coverage. The objective is to analyse the pattern of use of the PADI scheme in Navarre. Material and methods: a study was made of 862 schoolchildren born between 1992 and 1995 from the Navarra-2007 oral health survey. lnformation was obtained from each child with regard to his/her attendance of the PADI during the years in which he/she had a right to do so. The responses were coded as: "Did attend" "Did not attend" "No right to attend". The records were taken from the Osasunbidea / Navarre Health Service PADI Management Unit database. The statistical analysis included a single and multivariate analysis using SPSS-Windows V.15.0.1 Results: For each age, the mean use is 70-75%. Whilst 93.3% have used PADI sometime in their lives, 38.2% have used it every year. Younger children use it more than older children (p> 0.05). There are no gender, residence or socio-economic status (SES) differences. lmmigrant attendance is significantly lower than that of the native inhabitants (p<0.001). Conclusion: the PADI has a high level of use, although this progressively decreases with age. lmmigrants use the dental service less than native inhabitants. The SES or rural environment are not obstacles to access.
