Lan honetan, euskal gizabidearen gaineko gogoeta egingo dugu, kate bereko hiru begi legez, elkarrekin lotzen diren hiru pentsalari eta kulturgileri helduz: Joxe Migel Barandiaran (1889-1991), Jose Maria Arizmendiarrieta (1915-1976) eta Joxe Azurmendi (1941-). Begirada, lehenik eta behin, Barandiaranen pentsamendu eta ekarpenari egingo diogu, hura hasi baitzen, XX. mendearen lehen hamarkadetako giro konplexuan, euskal hizkuntza eta kultura komunitateko gizabidearen ardura mahai-gain eta pentsabidera ekar tzen. Gainerako bi filosofoen hitzak, ondoren ekarriko ditugu, aberasgarri edo osagarri diren heinean. Hau da, Barandiaranen haritik eratutakoa zoliago josiko dugu Arizmendiarrieta eta Azurmendiren ekarpenekin, eta, horrekin, haien arteko balio transmisio eta jarraipena erakutsiko dugu.

In this work, we will reflect on Basque humanism, focusing on three thinkers and cultural activists that participate in the same tradition: Joxe Migel Barandiaran (1889-1991), Jose Maria Arizmendiarrieta (1915-1976) and Joxe Azurmendi (1941-). First of all, we will look at the thought and contribution of Barandiaran, who was the first that, on the complex context of the first decade of the 20th C., started to speak of the importance of the humanism based on the Basque language and culture. We will bring the words of the other two philosophers afterwards, as they enrich and complement Barandiaran’s. In other words, we will enhance Barandiaran’s contribution with those of Arizmendiarrieta and Azurmendi, and, together with it, we will show the transmission of values and continuity among them.
