En el barrio del Alacava dentro de la judería de Toledo se han realizado estudios y actuaciones arqueológicas que han aportado información sobre la existencia y ubicación de la sinagoga de Los Golondrinos, pero es el año 2020 el momento en el que se lleva a cabo la actual intervención arqueológica donde se determina con certeza la presencia de tal edificio, constituyendo así una de las 12 sinagogas que Toledo llegó a disponer según indican las fuentes bibliográficas. Es sorprendente la cantidad de restos que han aparecido que nos dan información sobre aspectos como la compartimentación y organización interior que, junto con los hallazgos que se documentaron en la intervención realizada en el inmueble contiguo, hace que tengamos una visión de conjunto del edificio y lleguemos a plantear hipótesis sobre la relación con otros edificios y estructuras cercanas. Este estudio se centra en presentar la sinagoga de Los Golondrinos que constituye uno de los mejores ejemplos peninsulares de sinagoga de barrio bajomedieval.

In the Alacava neighborhood, within the Jewish quarter of Toledo, archaeological studies and excavations have been carried out, providing information about the existence and location of the Synagogue of Los Golondrinos. However, it was in the year 2020 when the current archaeological intervention was conducted, definitively confirming the presence of this building. This makes it one of the 12 synagogues that Toledo is known to have had, as indicated by bibliographic documentation. The quantity of remains that have been uncovered is astonishing and provides insights into aspects such as the interior partitioning and organization. Combined with the discoveries from the previous intervention in the adjacent building, we now have an overall view of the structure. This allows us to formulate hypotheses about its relationship with other nearby buildings and structures. This study focuses on presenting the Synagogue of Los Golondrinos, which is one of the best peninsular examples of a late medieval neighborhood synagogue.
