Resumen de American psycho y el homo œconomicus.: Hacia un análisis del sufrimiento del sujeto neoliberal

  El presente artículo tiene por objetivo apreciar, en la película American Psycho, una representación del sufrimiento subjetivo del sujeto neoliberal. Para conseguir esta meta, la investigación se divide en tres momentos, el primero, que presenta el modo en que el personaje Patrick Bateman encarna la figura subjetiva del homo œconomicus; el segundo, analiza cómo el filme expresa una relación entre la pulsión de muerte y el neoliberalismo; y, finalmente, se profundiza en cómo se presenta el sufrimiento dentro de Bateman y la manera en que se puede universalizar dicho dolor. Todo esto con el fin de indicar la manera en que el cine comercial expone la subjetividad hegemónica presente en la sociedad neoliberal contemporánea.

  This article aims to appreciate within the film American Psycho, a representation of the subjective suffering of the neoliberal subject. To achieve this goal, the research is divided into three moments, the first, which presentsthe way in which the character Patrick Bateman embodies the subjective figure of homoœconomicus. The second analyzes how the film expresses a relationship between the death drive and neoliberalism. Finally, it explores how suffering is presented within Bateman and how this pain can be universalized. Allthis in order to indicate the way in which commercial cinema presentsthe hegemonic subjectivity in contemporary neoliberal society
