Resumen de Gestión del agua en Almonacid de Zorita (Guadalajara): tradiciones milenarias

  El agua es un recurso indispensable para la vida. Este recurso es auténtico eje vertebrador de Almonacid de Zorita, donde destaca, precisamente, por su abundancia, con siete manantiales de agua dulce que recorren tanto el núcleo urbano como el término municipal. Atendiendo a su recorrido y a la configuración urbanística del propio municipio, éste último parece haberse desarrollado en torno a este circuito acuífero de correntías encauzadas mediante una compleja red de acequias, que nos remontan a los orígenes de esta población alcarreña. En la actualidad los regantes de Almonacid siguen gestionando el uso de esta agua con unas normas propias que son rastreadas en fuentes documentales desde el siglo XV hasta principios del siglo XX. Normas y usos que pasan de padres a hijos y que configuran un rico Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial aún vivo.

  Water is an indispensable resource for life. This resource is the real backbone of Almonacid de Zorita, where it stands out, precisely, for its abundance, with seven freshwater springs that run through both the urban core and the municipality. According to its route, and the urban configuration of the municipality itself, the latter seems to have developed around this aquifer circuit of streams channeled through a complex network of irrigation ditches, which date back to the origins of this town in the Alcarria province. At present, the irrigators of Almonacid continue to manage the use of this water with their own rules that are traced in documentary sources from the fifteenth century to the early twentieth century. Rules and uses that pass from parents to children and that make up a rich Intangible Cultural Heritage still alive.
