  La innovación social se ha considerado en los últimos años como una posible solución a problemáticas de la sociedad que comprenden el bienestar y la calidad de vida de las personas. Es en este campo, donde surge el objetivo de analizar la red de investigaciones sobre innovación social, con el fin de referenciar sus planteamientos conceptuales y la estructura de los principales estudios publicados directamente en este tema en las bases de datos Web of Science y Scopus entre el 2005 y el 2021. El tipo de metodología es de análisis documental con enfoque mixto, donde se emplea la metáfora del árbol para categorizar sus referentes de investigación en conjunto con las herramientas Gephi y software R, para estructurar la red y categorizar las publicaciones referentes. Los resultados coinciden en que la innovación social se enfoca en la participación activa de los actores sociales para lograr el bienestar de la población a través de transformaciones en las organizaciones, planteando cambios sociales, políticos y ambientales. Se concluye que los principales clusters de investigaciones recientes sobre innovación social se enfocan en el emprendimiento social, las organizaciones, la gobernanza y la sostenibilidad ambiental.

  Social innovation has been considered in recent years as a potential solution to societal issues that encompass the well-being and quality of life of individuals. It is in this field that the objective arises to analyze the research network on social innovation, aiming to reference its conceptual frameworks and the structure of the main studies published directly on this topic in the Web of Science and Scopus databases between 2005 and 2021. The methodology used is a mixed-method documentary analysis, employing the metaphor of the tree to categorize its research references along with the tools Gephi and R software to structure the network and categorize the most important publications. The results coincide in highlighting that social innovation focuses on the active participation of social actors to achieve the well-being of the population through transformations in organizations, advocating for social, political, and environmental changes. It can be concluded that the main recent research clusters on social innovation revolve around social entrepreneurship, organizations, governance, and environmental sustainability
