    Continuando con la historia de la tradición de los gigantes y cabezudos en Calahorra desde el siglo XX, llegamos a la posguerra. En un momento de depresión y crisis social y económica, destruida la anterior comparsa al finalizar el conflicto, el Ayuntamiento tratará en múltiples ocasiones de adquirir una nueva para la ciudad. Pero la crisis afecta tanto al Consistorio como a los fabricantes y proveedores, y no será hasta 1950 cuando se complete un conjunto de figuras de propiedad municipal. A lo largo de esos años, el Ayuntamiento de Logroño cederá su comparsa durante las fiestas. Para realizar este artículo, se ha trabajado principalmente con documentos de archivo, hemerotecas y testimonios. El objeto del mismo es recopilar la historia de estas figuras y resaltar su carácter histórico y cultural como parte del folclore.

    Continuing with giants and big-heads tradition’s history in Calahorra since the XX century, we come to the post-war period. At a time of depression and social and economic crisis, the previous troupe having been destroyed at the end of the conflict, the City Council will make many attempts to acquire a new one for the city. But the crisis affects both the consistory and the manufacturers and suppliers, and it will not be until 1950 when a municipally owned set of figures is completed. Throughout those years, the Logroño City Council will lend its troupe during the festivals. To carry out this article, mainly archive documents, newspaper libraries and testimonies have been studied. Its purpose is to compile the history of these figures and highlight their historical and cultural character as part of folklore.
