    Este artículo explora el vínculo existente entre las relaciones internacionales del Partido Socialista portugués (PS) y la transformación de la idea de Europa que se dio en el partido luso entre 1973 y 1976. Se examinan específicamente las relaciones del partido ibérico con el Partido Laborista británico (LP) y con el Partido Socialista francés (PSF), y a través de ellas se analiza la influencia que los partidos Europeos tuvieron en la evolución de la idea de Europa en el PS, que pasó de proponer un tipo de integración europea que convirtiera la Comunidad en una Europa democrática y social, a aceptar la integración en la Comunidad Económica Europea en apenas dos años. Los partidos europeos contribuyeron a esta transformación.

    This article explores the link between the international relations of the Portuguese Socialist Party (PS) and the transformation of the idea of Europe in this party between 1973 and 1976. The relations between the Iberian party with the French Socialist Party (PSF) and the British Labour Party (LP) are specifically examined. Through these relations it is analyzed the evolution of the idea of Europe experienced by the PS, which went from proposing a kind of European integration that would make the Community a democratic and social institution, to accepting the integration in the European Economic Community in barely two years. The European parties contributed to this transformation.
