La evidencia arqueológica de ‘Valentia’ para el s. III d. C. muestra una evolución acorde con la zona occidental del Imperio. Entre fines del siglo II e inicios del III aún se detecta alguna actividad constructiva.
Las abundantes inscripciones que en el siglo III la ciudad dedicó a los emperadores y su familia son la mejor prueba de la continuidad de la vida de la colonia hasta el reinado de Aureliano. Coincidiendo con este periodo final (270-280), se han encontrado varias destrucciones bien fechadas por cerámicas y monedas. El alcantarillado también se vio afectado.
Este fenómeno negativo fue de corta duración. A fines del s. III hay numerosos indicios de la reconstrucción de la ciudad.

The archaeological evidence of ‘Valentia’ for the third century AD shows an evolution according to the western part of the Empire. Some constructive activity is still detected from the end of the second century AD to the beginning of the third century. Abundant inscriptions were dedicated by the city to the emperors and their family in the third century. They are the best proof of the continuity of the life of the colony until the reign of Aurelian. Several well-dated destructions have been found in this final period (270-280). Sewerage was also affected.
This negative phenomenon was short-lived. There are numerous findings related with the reconstruction of the city in the end of the third century.
