Resumen de Trauma e exílio em «Tropical sol da liberdade», de Ana Maria Machado, e «Pedaço de santo», de Godofredo de Oliveira Neto

The purpose of this article is to analyze the representation of traumatic experiences related to the exile and the State violence, during the Brazilian military dictatorship, in the novels Tropical sol da liberdade (1988), by Ana Maria Machado, and Pedaço de santo (1997), by Godofredo de Oliveira Neto. The article also draws attention to the different perspectives that the novels present in relation to the dictatorial period and the problem of the armed struggle, due to the historical moment in which they were published. The analysis of the works is based on theoretical studies on exile (T. W. Adorno, E. W. Said and P. Freire) and on the trauma of torture (M. Viñar and A. G. Martín).

A finalidade do presente artigo é analisar a representação das vivências traumáticas relacionadas com a problemática do exílio e com a violência do Estado, durante a ditadura militar brasileira, nos romances Tropical sol da liberdade (1988), de Ana Maria Machado, e Pedaço de santo (1997), de Godofredo de Oliveira Neto. O artigo chama igualmente a atenção para as diferentes perspectivas que as narrativas apresentam em relação ao período ditatorial e à problemática da luta armada, devido ao momento histórico em que foram publicadas. A análise das obras apoia-se em estudos teóricos sobre o exílio (T. W. Adorno, E. W. Said e P. Freire) e sobre o trauma da tortura (M. Viñar e A. G. Martín).
