    A finales del siglo xviii y principios del XIX, el Santo Oficio sufrió el ataque crítico de los sectores que apostaban por salir del túnel de la historia. La novela Cornelia Bororquia (1801), del extrinitario Luis Gutiérrez, puede considerarse modélica de esta nueva voluntad persuasiva. En cuanto el Trienio Liberal ofreció una ocasión propicia, los editores valencianos partidarios del liberalismo y la Constitución se empeñaron en publicar y despachar esta famosa novela epistolar. Entre los pioneros cabe citar la imprenta de Domingo y Mompié y la librería de Mariano Cabrerizo.

    At the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, the Santo Oficio suffered a critical attack from sectors that were betting on getting out of the tunnel of history. The novel Cornelia Bororquia (1801), by the extrinitarian Luis Gutiérrez, can be considered a model of this new persuasive will. As soon as the Liberal Triennium offered a propitious occasion, the Valencian publishers in favor of liberalism and the Constitution insisted on publishing and dispatching this famous epistolary novel. Among the pioneers it is worth mentioning the Domingo y Mompié printing press and the Mariano Cabrerizo bookstore.
