    La formación del estudiante enfrenta una serie de desafíos en un mundo que constantemente cambio científico y tecnológico, por ello, se debe revisar y redefinir las tareas que se relacionen con las necesidades de la sociedad del conocimiento en materia de aprendizaje y superación continua. Un punto clave para que las Instituciones de educación Superior (IES) cuenten con Programaseducativos (PE) de calidad, es que los docentes cuenten con las habilidades, competencias y valores necesarios para la impartición de asignaturas. En el este artículo se exponen los resultados de la aplicación a 513 estudiantes de ingeniería de una institución de educación superior de un instrumento de escala tipo Likert acerca de las percepciones sobre la formación y metodología que aplican los docentes en clase; con el objetivo de encontrar las áreas de oportunidad de la planta académica. El aumento en la calidad del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje avanza principalmente por la combinación entre el conocimiento, pensamiento y valores del docente, por dicha razón, la Educación Superior necesita docentes de calidad, capacitados para fortalecer el desarrolloprofesional de los estudiantes, de una propia estructuración de los programas educativos, de la infraestructura y del ambiente universitario.

    The student's education faces a series of challenges in a world that constantly changes science and technology, therefore, must review and redefine the tasks that relate to the needs of the knowledge society in terms of learning and continuous improvement. A key point for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to have quality Educational Programmes (EPs) is that teachers have the skills, competences and values necessary for the delivery of subjects. This article presents the results of the application to 513 engineering students of a higher education institution of a Likert scale instrument about the perceptions of the training and methodology applied by the teachers in class; with the objective of finding the areas of opportunity of the academic plant. The increase in the quality of the teaching-learning process is mainly due to the combination of the knowledge, thought and values of the teacher. For this reason, Higher Education needs quality teachers, trained to strengthen the professional development of the students, of their own structuring of the educational programs, of the infrastructure and of the university environment.
