    En este artículo se examinan la imagen del judío y el converso como figuras literarias en dos obras significativas del canon literario español: El Buscón (1626) de Quevedo y Misericordia (1897) de Galdós. A través del personaje de Pablos y del ciego aljamiado Mordejai, analizaremos la imagen que los autores proyectan del converso y el judío como símbolos representativos del imaginario colectivo español, revestidos con los estereotipos que, a lo largo de la historia, culturalmente se les han atribuido.

    This article examines the image of the Jew and the converts as literary figures in two significant works of the Spanish literary canon: El Buscón (1626) by Quevedo and Misericordia (1897) by Galdós. Through the character of Pablos and the blind aljamiado Mordejai, we will analyze the image that the authors project of the Converts and the Jews as representative symbols of the Spanish collective imaginary, coated with the stereotypes that, throughout history, have been culturally attributed to them.
