  El objetivo del presente artículo es la determinación de nitrógeno y fósforo en las aguas del Río Chone. Las descargas al Río Chone causan enriquecimiento por nutrientes y minerales originando una eutrofización. Se evaluaron las concentraciones de fósforo y nitrógeno en muestras de agua en los sitios, Mosquito - Zona rural (a 1 km de la represa de Chone). El Bejucal - Zona urbana (iniciando Chone). Barrio Santa Martha - Zona urbana (centro de Chone). El Olimpo - Zona rural (saliendo de Chone). La Margarita - Zona rural (desembocando en el brazo de mar de la playa San Vicente - Océano Pacifico). Las muestras se tomaron por triplicado, en ambas orillas y en la parte central, diferenciándola con un literal: del lado izquierdo del río la muestra A, en el centro la muestra B y del lado derecho la muestra C; los análisis demostraron en los cinco puntos de muestreo del agua superficial, un pH ligeramente alcalino que fluctuó entre (7,28 y 7,74). La temperatura varía entre (26 y 27 ºC). Los sólidos disueltos totales tuvieron un rango amplio de fluctuación entre (19 y 46). Los valores del fósforo total obtenidos por espectrofotometría variaron notablemente entre (1,71y 3,81). El nitrógeno total por el método de Kjeldahl también presento una variación de (5,88 y 14); El nitrógeno amoniacal fluctuó entre (0,56 hasta 1,68); En el nitrógeno orgánico se encontró una gran variación de (4,62 hasta 13,16). Las bajas concentraciones de nitrógeno amoniacal están relacionadas con un pH neutro o ligeramente alcalino.

  The objective of this article is the determination of nitrogen and phosphorus in the waters of the Chone River. The discharges to the Chone River cause enrichment by nutrients and minerals, causing eutrophication. Phosphorus and nitrogen concentrations were evaluated in water samples at the sites, Mosquito - Rural area (1 km from the Chone dam). El Bejucal - Urban area (beginning Chone). Barrio Santa Martha - Urban area (downtown Chone). El Olimpo - Rural area (leaving Chone). La Margarita - Rural area (flowing into the inlet of San Vicente beach - Pacific Ocean).

  the analyzes showed in the five sampling points of the surface water, a slightly alkaline pH that fluctuated between (7.28 and 7.74). The temperature varies between (26 and 27 ºC). Total dissolved solids had a wide fluctuation range between (19 and 46). Total phosphorus values obtained by spectrophotometry varied remarkably between (1.71 and 3.81). The total nitrogen by the Kjeldahl method also presented a variation of (5.88 and 14); Ammoniacal nitrogen fluctuated between (0.56 to 1.68); In organic nitrogen a great variation of (4.62 to 13.16) was found. Low concentrations of ammoniacal nitrogen are related to a neutral or slightly alkaline pH.
