    Acercarse a la historia bajomedieval de Ciudad Rodrigo es encontrarse con el linaje de los Garci López de Chaves, linaje que no solo sirvió en armas a los reyes cuando fueron requeridos para ello, sino que protagonizaron la vida local desde su poder e influencia, ocupando la mitad de los oficios concejiles de forma hereditaria. A pesar de este destacado papel, desconocíamos su línea de sucesión, las imbricaciones con otros linajes tejidas por los pactos matrimoniales que llevaron a cabo y la conformación de su enorme patrimonio a lo largo del tiempo. Todas estas claves aparecen desveladas en el presente trabajo.

    Approaching the bajomedieval history of Ciudad Rodrigo is to meet the lineage of the Garci López de Chaves, a lineage that not only served the kings in arms when they were required to do so, but starred in local life from their power and influence, occupying half of the concex offices in hereditary form. Despite this prominent role, we were unaware of his line of succession, the imbrications with other lineages woven by the marriage covenants they carried out and the formation of their enormous heritage over time. All these keys are revealed in this work.
