Resumen de La ciutat, el camp i els horts de palmeres: "l'Almanguenà" i les narracions costumistes elxanes de 1921

  The purpose of this article is to present and highlight a small collection of stories published in Elx in the early twentieth century dealing with the themes and settings of traditional and autochthonist literature. The authors of these small works tried to reflect the habits and customs of our city, with a special focus on the particularities of the local dialect. Today, one hundred years after the appearance of most of these stories, we understand that recovering this unknown part of Valencian heritage helps to re-signify our identity and allows us to understand the social and ideological contradictions that marked the future of Elx during the twentieth century.

  El propòsit d’aquest article és donar a conéixer i revalorar una petita col·lecció de narracions que, publicades a Elx a començaments del segle XX, participaren dels temes i de les ambientacions de la literatura costumista i autoctonista. Els autors d’aquestes petites obres miraren de reflectir-hi els usos i costums de la nostra ciutat, amb una atenció destacada cap a les particularitats del dialecte local. Hui dia, cent anys després de l’aparició de la majoria d’aquestes narracions, entenem que recuperar aquesta part tan desconeguda del patrimoni valencià ajuda a resignificar la nostra identitat i permet entendre les contradiccions socials i ideològiques que marcaren l’esdevenir d’Elx durant el segle XX
