A semantic-pragmatic analysis of three Spanish argumentative markers, en efecto, efectivamente and de hecho, is carried out. Based on examples derived from CORPES XXI, this paper investigates their similarities and differences. Furthermore, it explores how they combine with counterargumentative markers such as pero and sin embargo. It is argued that the two groups of markers cooperate in solidarity to build more persuasive argumentative movements.
