El politrauma es una de las principales causas de mortalidad en la actualidad, por ello la actuación extrahospitalaria en el politraumatizado debe ser de manera inmediata, comenzando con la evaluación del paciente y continuando con el tratamiento. La evaluación primaria se realiza siguiendo el esquema ABCDE, cuyo objetivo principal es identificar lesiones de riesgo vital y corregirlas. El paciente politraumatizado debe estar en continua reevaluación, logrando así un adecuado abordaje de este tipo de pacientes.

Nowadays polytrauma is one of the main causes of mortality, for this reason the out-of-hospital intervention in polytrauma patients should be immediate, beginning with the evaluation of the patient and continuing with the treatment. The primary evaluation is carried out following the ABCDE scheme, whose main objective is to identify life-threatening injuries and correct them. Polytraumatized patients must be continuously reevaluated, achieving an adequate approach to this type of patient.
