    Desde 2016, la doctrina ha prestado gran atención a la hipótesis de que el procedimiento de investidura no pudiera ser aplicado por falta de candidatos. A este supuesto ya se enfrentó en 2003 el Consejo de Estado, y concluyó que la imposibilidad de proponer candidato equivale a una investidura fallida. En los últimos años, varias Comunidades Autónomas han aplicado, a su manera, el dictamen del órgano consultivo, permitiendo que el presidente de la Cámara pueda provocar la disolución de la legislatura sin necesidad de una primera votación negativa.     Since 2016, the doctrine has paid great attention to the hypothesis that the investiture procedure could not be applied for lack of candidates. The Council of State was already confronted with this scenario in 2003, and concluded that the impossibility of proposing a candidate is equivalent to a failed investiture. In recent years, several Autonomous Communities have applied in their own way the report of the advisory body, allowing the Speaker of the House to trigger the deadline for dissolution of the legislature without the need for a first negative vote. This paper analyzes the theoretical and practical problems raised by this new trend.
