    Cada día se avanza más en el ámbito sanitario, teniendo la posibilidad de utilizar nuevos materiales e instrumentos que facilitan nuestra labor diaria.

    El deber de la enfermería se centra en actualizar todos los conocimientos para aportar las mejoras posibles a cada actuación que se realice. Conocer todos los cuidados necesarios que se han de aportar al paciente es imprescindible, incluyendo las precauciones universales que hay que realizar para prevenir todo tipo de infecciones y su expansión; además de los procedimientos que se deben llevar a cabo centrados en aplicar unas medidas de aislamiento, unas precauciones de transmisión por contacto, por gotas y por vía aérea, teniendo en cuenta siempre las necesidades del paciente, manteniendo informados a todo el personal sanitario y a los familiares del mismo.

    En definitiva, deben desarrollarse, la labor asistencial con el paciente, la labor gestora informando de cada infección posible tramitando los documentos necesarios, la labor docente explicando al paciente y familiares los diversos procedimientos a realizar y por último la función investigadora para seguir avanzando en este campo.

    In short, the care work with the patient must be developed, the management work informing of each possible infection, processing the necessary documents, the teaching work explaining to the patient and relatives the various procedures to be carried out and finally the research function to continue advancing in this field.
