    La Gangrena de Fournier es una infección altamente severa que afecta al periné, región perianal y/o zona genital resultado de la acción sinérgica en la colonización de microorganismos aerobios y anaerobios, siendo más prevalente en hombres que en mujeres y presentando una elevada tasa de morbimortalidad. Por ello, se ha considerado necesario realizar una revisión de la literatura actual sobre esta patología tan desconocida en nuestra sociedad y destacar también la importancia del papel de enfermería en su resolución satisfactoria.

    Fournier’s Gangrene is a highly severe infection that affects the perineum, perianal region and/or genital area resulting from the synergistic action in the colonization of aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms, being more prevalent in men than in women and presenting a high rate of morbidity and mortality. For this reason, it has been considered necessary to carry out a review of the current literature on this pathology so unknown in our society and also highlight the importance of the role of nursing in its satisfactory resolution.
