    Un presbítero es verdadero cuando vive según la sensibilidad de Cristo, el Pastor Bello, con sus mismos sentimientos. Pero esto implica, por su propia naturaleza, un camino formativo que se extiende durante toda la vida. La formación se convierte así en ‘permanente’, como proceso desde abajo, desde la evangelización de la sensibilidad, no sólo de los comportamientos, para llegar a tener el mismo ‘sentir’ de Dios, sus gustos y deseos. Pero viene también desde lo alto, desde la acción del Padre que forma en nosotros el corazón del Hijo por la acción del Espíritu. Sacerdote verdadero, entonces, es quien ha aprendido a ser docibilis –no sólo docilis–, a dejarse formar por la vida para toda la vida, libre de dejarse atraer por su identidad.

    A priest is true when he lives according to the sensibility of Christ, the Beautiful Shepherd, with his same feelings. But this implies, by its very nature, a for-mative journey that extends throughout life. Formation thus becomes ‘ongoing’, as a process from below, from the evangelization of sensitivity, not only of behaviour, in order to come to have God’s own ‘feelings’, his tastes and desires. But it also comes from above, from the Father’s action, who forms in us the heart of the Son through the action of the Spirit. A true priest, then, is the one who has learned to be docibilis–not only docilis–, to let himself be formed by life for the whole of life, free to let himself be attracted by his identity
