    Este artículo se propone analizar la importancia de la modalidad oral y pública de la lectura para la prensa cultural del Siglo de las Luces español. El primer enfoque será prágmatico: se evocará la importancia de la recepción colectiva en la realidad histórica de la prensa. El segundo enfoque será metaperiodístico: ¿cómo aparece representada esta oralidad de la lectura en los periódicos que tratan de letras, artes, costumbres y que, como tal, interrogan las funciones del periodismo a la vez que lo practican? El tercer enfoque será literario, y se interesará en el impacto de las relaciones estrechas entre prensa y oralidad sobre las opciones de redacción adoptadas.

    This article aims to analyse the importance of the oral and public mode of reading for the cultural press of the Spanish Enlightenment. The first ap-proach will be pragmatic, and will take into consideration the importance of col-lective reception in the historical reality of the press. The second approach will be meta-journalistic: how is this orality of reading represented in newspapers that deal with literature, arts and customs and, as such, question the functions of journalism while at the same time practising it? The third approach will be literary, and will focus on the impact of the close relationship between the press and orality on the editorial choices that are made
