El patrimonio agroindustrial es un tema recientemente explorado en Latinoamérica, en donde nuevas investigaciones están demostrando su importancia en el campo patrimonial. El objetivo de esta investigación es develar lo relevante que es la presencia de patrimonio agroindustrial, probablemente el único caso de estudio de este tipo en el distrito de San Miguel al día de hoy: la Hacienda Maranga; su historia, sus actores a través del tiempo, los objetos y valores patrimoniales que le atribuyen. Esta peculiar hacienda significo un hito en diferentes momentos de su historia, la importancia e influencia en la conformación del distrito san miguelino podría ser incluso causa de su presencia.

Agro-industrial heritage is a topic recently explored in Latin America, where new research is showing its importance in the heritage field. The objective of this research is to reveal how relevant the presence of agro-industrial heritage is, probably the only case study of this type in San Miguel district nowadays: Hacienda Maranga; its history, its actors through time, the objects and heritage values that are attributed it. This peculiar hacienda was a milestone at different times in its history, the importance and influence even in the formation of the San Miguel district could be due to its presence.
