    El artículo postula como objetivo identificar las implicaciones sociales que tuvo la ejecución Proyecto de Interés Social Nacional Centro Occidente de Colombia, sobre los habitantes de la Comuna San José que fueron reubicados en el barrio San Sebastián de la ciudad de Manizales. En el trabajo se sostiene que el proyecto urbano, contrario a mejorar, afectó la calidad de vida de muchas personas ubicadas en esta parte de la ciudad. El estudio se orientó bajo el paradigma interpretativo con un enfoque histórico-hermenéutico y el uso de la metodología conocida como estudio de caso. Se realizaron visitas de campo en donde se aplicaron guías de entrevistas semiestructuradas a las personas reubicadas en el barrio San Sebastián y se hizo uso de etnografía. También se revisó material bibliográfico. En la investigación fue fundamental las concepciones teóricas referentes al derecho a la ciudad y la marginación urbana desde diferentes posturas analíticas. Se concluye que el Macroproyecto San José, en su intento de buscar alternativas a los problemas de vivienda en el sector, generó inconvenientes nuevos, la informalidad e inestabilidad laboral se acrecentó entre la población al ser trasladada a un barrio periférico de la ciudad y la pobreza en muchos hogares aumentó.

    The article postulates as an objective to identify the social implications of the execution of the Project of National Social Interest Central West of Colombia, on the inhabitants of the San José Commune who were relocated to the San Sebastián neighborhood of the city of Manizales. In the work it is argued that the urban project, contrary to improvement, affected the quality of life of many people located in this part of the city. The study was oriented under the interpretivist paradigm with a historical-hermeneutic approach and the use of the methodology known as case study. Field visits were carried out where semi-structured interview guides were applied to people relocated to the San Sebastián neighborhood and ethnography was used. Bibliographic material was also reviewed. In the investigation, the theoretical conceptions referring to the right to the city and urban marginalization from different analytical positions were fundamental. It is concluded that the San José Macroproject, in its attempt to find alternatives to the housing problems in the sector, generated new problems, informality and labor instability increased among the population when it was transferred to a peripheral neighborhood of the city and poverty. in many homes increased.
