Caso complejo de trauma dentoalveolar en un niño con dificultades conductuales: abordaje interprofesional

    El trauma dentoalveolar (TDA) causa afectación abrupta o violenta de la estructura dental, y sus tejidos adyacentes por agentes externos, implicando un papel importante en la estética facial y calidad de vida. Puede causar alteraciones en el crecimiento y desarrollo de los maxilares, al igual que en el cierre apical de dientes inmaduros; inclusive actualmente existe evidencia del impacto psicológico y social significativos del TDA en la niñez y adolescencia. Constituye un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial, teniendo una prevalencia en la dentición anterior permanente entre un 4,1% a 58,6%, con mayor incidencia en el sexo masculino. El TDA en un niño de difícil conducta implica una intervención interprofesional (EIP), para crear interacción activa de varias profesiones enfocadas en el mismo objetivo, aportando un mayor porcentaje de éxito tanto funcional como estético. Describir laefectividad de un enfoque colaborativo y multidisciplinario para el diagnóstico, manejo y tratamiento del trauma dentoalveolar en paciente pediátrico con desafío clínico y conductuales complejos. Paciente femenino de 10 años, sufrió trauma dentoalveolar en ambos incisivos centrales superiores. Durante la valoración se analizó el comportamiento poco colaborador, por tanto, se planificó de manera interprofesional su tratamiento teniendo como resultado la restauración de ambos incisivos. El caso presentando revela resultados clínicos satisfactorios gracias al diagnóstico y planificación con la EIP, la cual permitió implementar conocimientos en la preparación y adaptación del paciente antes, durante y después de cada procedimiento, obteniendo resultados satisfactorios en el alargamiento coronal y restauración dental.Recibido: 14/07/2023Aceptado: 11/10/2023

    Dentoalveolar trauma (ADD) causes abrupt or violent affectation of the dental structure and its adjacent tissues by external agents, playing an important role in facial esthetics and quality of life. It can cause alterations in the growth and development of the jaws, as well as in the apical closure of immature teeth; there is currently evidence of the significant psychological and social impact of ADD in childhood and adolescence. It is a worldwide public health problem, with a prevalence in the permanent anterior dentition between 4.1% and 58.6%, with a higher incidence in males. The ADD in a child of difficult behavior implies an interprofessional intervention (EIP), to create active interaction of several professions focused on the same objective, providing a higher percentage of success both functional and esthetic. To describe the effectiveness of a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach forthe diagnosis, management and treatment of dentoalveolar trauma in pediatric patients with complex clinical and behavioral challenges. A 10-year-old female patient suffered dentoalveolar trauma in both upper central incisors. During the assessment, her uncooperative behavior was analyzed, therefore, her treatment was planned in an interprofessional manner, resulting in the restoration of both incisors. The case presented reveals satisfactory clinical results thanks to the diagnosis and planning with the EIP, which allowed the implementation of knowledge in the preparation and adaptation of the patient before, during and after each procedure, obtaining satisfactory results in the coronal lengthening and dental restoration.
