Esta introducción a la traducción del texto “La invención del trabajo sexual” de Carol Leigh trata de reconstruir brevemente su trayectoria y de señalar algunos elementos del contexto de producción del mismo. De esta forma se busca habilitar una lectura más amplia del texto y a la vez marcar algunos indicios que pueden permitir comprender su importancia política y conceptual en la actualidad.

This introduction to the translation of the text "The Invention of Sex Work" by Carol Leigh seeks to briefly reconstruct her trajectory and to point out some elements of the context in which this text was produced. In this way, the aim is to enable a broader reading of the text and at the same time to mark some clues that may allow us to understand its political and conceptual importance.
