  • Standing stock for Canary Islands waters have been studied from April 1975 to March 1976, obtaining a mean value of about 1.94 mg dry weight/m3 for the 0 - 200 m column and 1.68 mg dry weight/m3 for the 0 - 500 m column. Assuming that 80% of the ingested food is assimilated by the zooplankton and 70% is respired, a mean value of 73 mg C/m2 day is derived for the daily production of zooplankton
