Resumen de El Ciberespacio y la nueva transformación a la zona de operaciones

La humanidad ha convivido con conflictos bélicos desde sus inicios, motivando el desarrollo de tecnologías que provean ventajas contra potenciales adversarios. Estos mismos desarrollos han aportado, por medio de diversas transformaciones, nuevos avances a la sociedad en tiempos de paz. Luego de ello, sin embargo, estos nuevos avances parecen regresar mejorados al campo de batalla. La presente investigación aborda el caso del ciberespacio, cuyos efectos han permeado todo el quehacer humano, incluido el nivel militar. Se estudia el concepto de Zona de Operaciones y se analiza -en comparación a otros ejemplos tecnológicos- el impacto que el ciberespacio ha tenido en ella. Se aporta a la discusión con recomendaciones sobre cómo adoptar apropiadamente esta nueva disrupción tecnológica en las instituciones militares.

Humanity has coexisted with war since its beginnings, motivating the development of technologies that provide advantages against potential adversaries. These same developments have brought, through various transformations, new advances to society in times of peace. After that, however, these new developments seem to return to the battlefield improved. The present research addresses the case of cyberspace, whose effects have permeated all human endeavors, including the military level. The concept of the Zone of Operations is studied and the impact that cyberspace has had on it is analyzed in comparison with other technological examples. It contributes to the discussion with recommendations on how to appropriately adopt this new technological disruption in military institutions.
