Francisco Sánchez Delgado

  • This paper describes a total of 21 species of fishes belonging to the family Labridae (Wrasses), collected from the Mediterranean and Cantabrian Spanish Coasts.

Species are characterized and illustrated. Each descriptive account contains a geographic distribution for Spanish Coasts. Keys to genera and species are provided.

Characters used in destinguishing Wrasses include morphology and merestics, but it was made special attention in the livery, that can be used to distinguish each specie and also males from females.

The ecological aspects of the Wrasses fauna of the Spanish Coasts will be discussed in a next paper.
