    El presente trabajo pretende llevar a cabo el primer estudio histórico-ar-tístico sobre una escultura inédita firmada por el artista italiano Geörg Stieger (1657-1720) y preservada en el Museo de Arte Sacro de Teruel. Se trata de una de las escasí-simas obras autógrafas conservadas del autor, a cuya misteriosa personalidad artística hemos tratado de aproximarnos, así como la única conocida en nuestro país hasta la fecha. Además de realizar el estudio iconográfico de la pieza y de revisar los posibles modelos de los que pudo beber Stieger para confeccionar esta exquisita escultura, hemos podido precisar su llegada hasta tierras turolenses

    The present paper is intended to carry out the first historical-artistic study of an unprecedented sculpture signed by the Italian artist Geörg Stieger (1657-1720) and preserved in the Sacred Art Museum of Teruel. This object is one of the very few sur-viving autograph works by the author and his only carve known in our country till the date. Besides approaching Stieger’s mysterious and artistic personality, we have car-ried out an iconographic study of the piece and reviewed the possible models from which the artist may have drawn to create this exquisite sculpture. Furthermore, we have been able to determine the work’s arrival to Teruel.
