    El Alto Horno número 2 de la siderurgia de Puerto de Sagunto es uno de los vestigios más representativos que se han mantenido en pie tras el cese de su actividad en 1984. Se iniciaba entonces un proceso de patrimonialización, en el que se inscribe la incoación de procedimiento para ser declarado Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC). El Plan Nacional de Patrimonio Industrial establece unos criterios específicos para eva-luar este tipo de bienes, que hemos aplicado en presente trabajo. La diversidad y relevancia de los valores que confluyen en este elemento nos llevan a determinar la procedencia dicho reconocimiento

    Blast Furnace number 2 of the Puerto de Sagunto steelworks plant is one of the most representative vestiges that have remained standing after the end of its activ-ity in 1984. A process of preservation of its heritage began at that time, including the initiation of the procedure to declare the steelwork a “Cultural Interest Asset” or Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC). The National Plan for Industrial Heritage establishes specific criteria for evaluating this type of heritage, which we have applied in this work. The di-versity and relevance of the values that converge in this element, lead us to determine that such recognition is appropriate
