The war events affecting Ukrainian territory have contributed to highlight the particular condition in which the Orthodox Christian communities interact and the policies adopted to favour repositioning and areas of jurisdiction. In particular, the study attempts to offer an overview aimed at highlighting the theological reasons behind the positions of the Orthodox world and the geopolitical factors and ideological assumptions that affect these attitudes. The conduct advocated by the two actors seems to swing towards the pattern of phyletism, a doctrine that assumes the nation as the basis of ecclesiastical jurisdiction.
