Un defensor de Rosas entre los historiadores correntinos: Justo Díaz de Vivar, entre la tradición local y el revisionismo de los años treinta

    En el presente artículo, se analiza el contexto de elaboración y de recepción del libro Las Luchas por el Federalismo. Don Pedro Ferré, Don Juan Manuel... (1936), de Justo Díaz de Vivar, que constituye una obra peculiar dentro del marco de la historiografía correntina, caracterizada desde fines del siglo XIX por la exaltación de las acciones de su clase dirigente y de sus ejércitos libertadores en la lucha contra la política de Rosas. La obra de Justo Díaz de Vivar reivindica al mismo tiempo a Pedro Ferré, uno de los principales representantes de la clase dirigente local en ese período, y a Juan Manuel de Rosas, lo que permitió a su autor vincularse con los historiadores revisionistas. De esta manera, la obra de Díaz de Vivar se constituye en la única reconstrucción que cuestiona la política seguida por su provincia desde 1839, que la mantuvo en permanente estado de guerra hasta la caída de Rosas.

    In the present article it is analyzed the elaboration context and reception of the book The Fights for Federalism. Don Pedro Ferré, Don Juan Manuel... (1936), by Justo Díaz de Vivar, which constitutes a peculiar work into the framework of the historiography of Corrientes, characterized since the ending of the XIX Century by the exaltation of the actions of its ruling class and of its liberating armies in the struggle against Rosas’politics. At the same time, Justo Díaz de Vivar’s work redeems Pedro Ferré, one of the main representatives of the local ruling class of that period, and Juan Manuel de Rosas, allowing the author to establish links with revisionist historians. this way, the work of Díaz de Vivar is constituted as the only reconstructions that questions the politics followed by his province from 1839 until the fall of Rosas, which maintained it in permanent State of war.
