El yacimiento arqueológico de la Peña de las Cucharas es uno de los enclaves arqueológicos más significativos de la isla de Lanzarote. En los últimos años, junto a las intervenciones se han desarrollado diversas actividades en materia de difusión y divulgación. Dentro de estas las visitas escolares al yacimiento, además de talleres de excavación o prospección, han acercado al alumnado a realidad arqueológica de la isla. Los resultados obtenidos en estas actividades vuelven a incidir en la importancia que tiene la educación en la conservación del patrimonio histórico-arqueológico y en el interés que este genera en el alumnado y profesorado. Pero también en la necesidad de desarrollar estrategias conjuntas para acercar dicho patrimonio a la ciudadanía, y el conocimiento que hoy se tiene sobre la etapa preeuropea de Canarias.

The archaeological site of Peña de las Cucharas is one of the most significant archaeological settlements of Lanzarote. Recently, cultural promotion activities and dissemination sessions have been carried out along with the archaeological interventions. Examples of these are school visits to the site in addition to excavation or prospecting workshops, which have brought the student body closer to the archaeology reality of the island. The results obtained from these activities stress once again the importance that education has in the conservation of the historical-archaeological heritage and the interest that this generates in the student body and the faculty. But also emphasize the need to develop joint strategies to bring the citizens closer to their heritage and to the knowledge we have today about the pre-European times of the Canary Islands.
