  • 20th Century Linguistics has been marked by two very different approaches;

    those which generally focus on systematic and shared linguistic knowledge, like European Structural Linguistics and Generative Grammar, and those which have enlarged the perspective including linguistic usage analysis devices. Is in the last ones where the concept of context take up an important role, nevertheless such concept has not been adequately defined, becoming a vague notion in most of cases. In this analysis context has been studied taking account of linguistic and non-linguistic factors which can decide linguistic usage.
