    El objetivo del artículo es realizar un acercamiento a los estudios historiográficos sobre la clase trabajadora y el movimiento obrero de la primera mitad del siglo XX, en Costa Rica. Por lo que, a partir de seis tendencias identificadas se evidencian los principales temas y objetos de investigación, resultados y puntos de partida para comprender no solo el surgimiento de esta clase social a finales del siglo XIX sino también sus principales transformaciones a lo largo del siglo XX. Las principales conclusiones refieren a la importancia de continuar en la actualización de este tipo de estudios sobre el tema, a través de la profundización de nuevas aristas teóricas, metodológicas e investigativas.

    This article does an approach of the historiographical studies about the working class and the labor movements of the first half of the 20th century, in Costa Rica. It is showed from six identified tendencies the main topics and research objects, results and starting point to understand no only the appearance of this social class at the end of the XIX Century, as well as its main transformations along the XX Century. The main conclusions allude to the importance to continue in the update of this kind of studies about the topic through the deepening of new theorical, methodological and investigative edges.
