O presente artigo tem como propósito analisar a influência da mídia na construção das identidades sociais relacionadas ao corpo com deficiência. A reflexão aborda a dicotomia existente entre o culto ao corpo e as pessoas com deficiência física, que muitas vezes são excluídas dos padrões corporais estabelecidos pela sociedade contemporânea. Examina-se a construção cultural dos estereótipos e seu potencial impacto negativo ou pejorativo sobre indivíduos com deficiência física. Por fim, destaca-se a relevância do corpo como um significativo objeto que não apenas apresenta, mas também representa os indivíduos nas interações sociais, delineando assim as complexidades dessa dinâmica.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the influence of the media on the construction of social identities related to the disabled body. The reflection addresses the dichotomy between the cult of the body and people with physical disabilities, who are oftenexcluded from the body standards established by contemporary society. The cultural construction of stereotypes and their potential negative or pejorative impact on individuals with physical disabilities is examined. Finally, the relevance of the body is highlighted as a significant object that not only presents, but also represents individuals in social interactions, thus outlining the complexities of this dynamic.
