Espacios femeninos en la narrativa digital anglófona

    La literatura digital o electrónica es un campo teórico y creativo que en los años noventa se hacía un hueco en importantes universidades estadounidenses, se desarrolló al inicio del nuevo milenio en la academia anglosajona y se expandió al resto de continentes ganando espacio no solo en los centros de enseñanza superiores, sino entre los usuarios de las nuevas redes sociales. Al encontrarnos ante un campo de reciente creación podemos considerar que los errores de los grandes estudios literarios, como el olvido de las escritoras y la potencialización de los autores masculinos sobre los femeninos, ha quedado superado. Pero, como ha señalado la gran teórica N. K. Hayles, en la literatura digital continúa siendo necesario el estudio y la visibilización de las obras escritas por mujeres. Por todo ello el objetivo de este trabajo es visibilizar el papel de la mujer en la narrativa digital anglófona presentando alguna de sus aportaciones, para mostrar la necesidad que tiene la teoría de la literatura de seguir creando espacios de estudio en este campo he ir creando un canon en el que las escritoras estén presentes. Para alcanzar este propósito se ofrecen las principales aportaciones realizadas por cuatro escritoras que han ido configurando la narrativa digital destacando sus aportaciones.

    Digital or electronic literature is a theoretical and creative field that, in the 1990s, began to establish itself in prominent United States universities. It developed at the start of the new millennium in the Anglo-Saxon academy and expanded to other continents, gaining ground not only in higher education institutions but also among users of new social networks. Given that this is a recently created field, we can consider that the mistakes of major literary studies, such as the neglect of female writers and the amplification of male authors over female ones, have been overcome. However, as noted by the prominent theorist N. K. Hayles, in digital literature, it remains necessary to study and bring visibility to works written by women. Therefore, the objective of this work is to shed light on the role of women in Anglophone digital narrative by presenting some of their contributions. This is intended to demonstrate the need for literary theory to continue creating study spaces in this field and to establish a canon where female writers are prominently featured. To achieve this purpose, the primary contributions made by four writers who have shaped digital narrative are presented, highlighting their significant contributions.
