    Desde su origen; la metodología BIM ha centrado su desarrollo fundamentalmente en el ámbitode la edificación; alcanzando un notable grado de madurez en este campo. La inminenteaplicación de la Directiva 2014/24/UE al proceso de contratación pública en España plantea unimportante reto en la futura evolución del BIM puesto que exige hacer extensivo su uso al mundode la obra civil; con obras fuertemente condicionadas por la topografía. Este escenario requierela formalización de nuevos procedimientos distintos de los habituales para un proyecto BIMtradicional; integrando software específico para la interacción obras puntuales y lineales; ycondicionados por una normativa de licitación no adaptada todavía a la metodología BIM.Esta comunicación muestra cómo se han resuelto de forma eficaz y pionera estos condicionantesen los trabajos de “Redacción del Proyecto para la futura Línea 10 de la red FGV en Valencia”;integrando la presencia de elementos existentes con estructuras y tramos objeto de diseño; yextendiendo el BIM a las distintas etapas del ciclo de vida de la infraestructura. Las resultantesdificultades normativas y conceptuales para la aplicación de BIM a obras civiles ponen demanifiesto las urgentes necesidades de desarrollo de esta metodología en dicho ámbito.

    Since its origin; BIM methodology has mainly focused its development on the field of Building;reaching a remarkable degree of maturity in this sector. The imminent Directive 2014/24/EUenforcement to the public procurement process in Spain presents an important challenge for BIMfuture evolution it demands an extended its use to the Civil Works world; with works typicallyconditionated by topography. This scenario requires the formalization of new procedures differentfrom those that are customary to a traditional BIM project; bringing in specific software for theinteraction of the point and linear works; and conditioned by a bidding regulation not yet adjustedto the BIM methodology.This communication shows how these conditions have been effectively and innovatively solvedby the Project “Works for the Future Underground Line 10 of the FGV network in Valencia”;incorporating the presence of existing elements into structures and sections object of design; andextending BIM methodology to the different stages of the infrastructure lifecycle. The resultingnormative and conceptual difficulties for BIM implementation to civil works highlights the urgentdevelopment needs of this methodology in this area.
