La enseñanza no profesional de la danza clásica y moderna en el Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) (ca. 1973-1986)

    En este texto se revisan 15 documentos que la bailarina, docente y coreógrafa mexicana Socorro Bastida entregó a los docentes de danza del imss, a fin de que mejoraran su forma de enseñar danza clásica y moderna en los Centros de Seguridad Social (css) de dicha institución, durante el período 1973-1986. El estudio del corpus textual tiene como propósitos: identificar las escuelas y técnicas dancísticas que fundamentaron la enseñanza no profesional de la danza en el imss, los nombres de los bailarines, docentes y coreógrafos que respaldan las técnicas o escuelas que fundamentaron dicha enseñanza; y dilucidar su importancia para la práctica dancística en aquel momento y en la actualidad. Cabe aclarar que se habla de enseñanza no profesional de la danza porque en los css, esta disciplina estaba dirigida a la población en general. Para este estudio se recurrió a la hermenéutica, y para arribar a conclusiones, se tomaron en cuenta los siguientes aspectos: el estudio de los textos en sí, en qué contexto se elaboraron, la revisión y estudio de textos originales de otros autores que escribieron temas relacionados con el corpus textual; quién es Socorro Bastida, quiénes fueron sus maestros, sus principales influencias dancísticas; y la opinión de las maestras: Sylvia Ramírez y Anadel Lynton, quienes cuentan con una amplia trayectoria en danza clásica y moderna, respectivamente.

    In this text we review 15 documents that the dancer, teacher and Mexican choreographer Socorro Bastida gave to the dance teachers of the imss, in order to improve their way of teaching classical and modern dance in the Social Security Centers (css) of this Institution, during the period 1973-1986.

    The textual corpus study’s purpose is to identify the dance schools and techniques that underpin the non-profesional dance teaching at imss, as well as the names of the dancers, teachers and choreographers that support the techniques or schools that founded such teaching; and to elucidate their importance for dance practice at that time and now. It should be noted that what is approached is the non-professional dance education because in the css, this discipline was aimed for the population in general.

    For this study, hermeneutics was used, and in order to reach conclusions, the following aspects were taken into account: the study of the texts themselves, in what context they were elaborated, the review and study of original texts by other authors who wrote on subjects related to the textual corpus; who is Socorro Bastida, who were her teachers, her main dance influences, and the opinion of the teachers: Sylvia Ramírez and Anadel Lynton, who have extensive experience in classical and modern dance, respectively.
